LeAnn Neilson is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in both Hawaii and Oregon, with a deep commitment to trauma-informed, integrative care. She is based on the Big Island and currently accepts new patients by referral only.

Her clinical focus includes supporting kupuna (elders), rural communities, and individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges. LeAnn brings over a decade of experience across outpatient psychiatry, and private practice, with a passion for bridging gaps in accessible psychiatric care across the Hawaiian islands.

LeAnn offers a holistic form of psychiatric care, integrating:

• Supportive therapy and lifestyle counseling
   
• Boundary work and mindfulness tools
   
• Medication management when appropriate
   
• Options for equine-assisted therapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy (certified provider)
   

Her work emphasizes connection to land, spirit, and identity—supporting clients in reconnecting with themselves through grounded, culturally sensitive care.

While not currently accepting general new patient inquiries, LeAnn is available by referral for:

She is also involved in program development for ADHD-informed therapy, rural mental health advocacy, and integrative retreats on the Big Island.

LeAnn lives with her family, dogs, cats and horses on the Big Island where she is actively building a sustainable off-grid retreat property for future in-person programs. She’s deeply passionate about land stewardship, healing through nature, and restoring balance in community health.
